Bogor councilors sworn in
BOGOR (JP): The City Council here saw new faces at the swearing in of 45 councilors on Friday morning.
The 1999-2004 council is dominated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) with 12 seats, followed closely by the Golkar Party with 11 seats.
The United Development Party (PPP) came third with seven seats, while the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Justice Party (PK) managed to secure two seats at the council, respectively.
Other parties represented in the council, with one seat each, were the Crescent Star Party (PBB), the Nahdlatul Ulama Party (PNU), the National Awakening Party (PKB) and the Justice and Unity Party (PKP), United Party (PP) and the Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI).
The Indonesian Military, whose members did not vote in the June 7 elections, were allocated five council seats. (21/03)
