Commuter Line or KRL services on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route and the reverse direction experienced disruption on Friday (21/8/2026) afternoon due to a street brawl that occurred around Level Crossing (JPL) 14 at Manggarai Station at approximately 17.00 WIB. KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan confirmed that the temporary suspension of KRL operations from both the Manggarai and Tebet directions was carried out to prioritise safety. “Commuter Line Bogor services from the Manggarai direction and from the Tebet direction have been temporarily halted. This measure was taken to maintain the safety of users and the security of Commuter Line journeys,” said Leza in an official statement on Friday (21/8/2026). To secure the crossing area, KAI Commuter security officers at the station coordinated with local authorities to clear the railway tracks at the scene. As a result of the incident, eight Commuter Line services on the Bogor route heading to Jakarta Kota and six services heading to Bogor were temporarily held and unable to pass the location of the brawl. “KAI Commuter urges users to remain orderly, follow the instructions of officers on the ground, and not force themselves into carriages if seating or standing areas are already overcrowded. Users are also advised to regularly monitor operational information updates via the C-Access application and the official @commuterline social media,” he concluded.
