Bogor Commuter Line Derails at Jakarta Kota; Routes Re-routed to Manggarai
The Bogor Commuter Line experienced disruptions on Friday morning (4/9/2026) after Commuter Line number 1203, operating the Bogor-Jakarta route, derailed while entering Jakarta Kota Station.
KAI Commuter has issued an apology for the operational disturbance caused by the incident. As a mitigation measure, the company has implemented a re-engineered operational pattern for the Bogor Commuter Line on the Jakarta Kota-Manggarai section.
KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager, Leza Arlan, stated that Commuter Line number 1203 derailed while attempting to enter track 9 at Jakarta Kota Station.
“All passengers inside the Commuter Line have been evacuated and are all in a safe condition,” he explained.
The incident has impacted all Commuter Line services intended to enter Jakarta Kota Station, with several trips experiencing delays due to the ongoing handling process at the site.
Relevant personnel, along with recovery trains, have been dispatched to the location to manage the derailed train set.
“As of 08:44 WIB, for Commuter Line users at Jakarta Kota Station heading towards Bogor, services are temporarily only being provided using tracks 10 or 11 at Jakarta Kota Station,” Leza added.
To minimise the impact of delays, KAI Commuter has re-engineered the operational pattern of the Bogor Commuter Line. Under this arrangement, Bogor Commuter Line services will only run as far as Jayakarta and Manggarai stations before returning to Bogor.
This situation requires Bogor Commuter Line users to pay close attention to travel information and instructions from station staff, particularly those travelling to or through Jakarta Kota Station.
KAI Commulator urges all passengers to follow the directions of staff during the handling process. Additionally, users are advised to monitor operational updates regularly via the official @commuterline social media accounts or the C-Access application.
KAI Commuter has ensured that recovery efforts are ongoing to restore Commuter Line services and minimise the impact of the disruption on passengers.
