A civil servant (ASN) of the Bogor city government remains missing after reportedly falling into the Cisadane River in Bogor City. On the fourth day of the search, the victim has still not been found.

Observations at the scene on Sunday (16/7/2026) showed a joint SAR team continuing efforts to locate Bayu Zulkarnaen (36), a civil servant at the Bogor City Archives and Library Office, who has been missing since Thursday night (13/8). Bayu is believed to have fallen from a bridge into the Cisadane River while travelling home by motorbike.

Joint SAR personnel conducted sweeps using rubber boats around the area. Directly beneath the bridge, believed to be the initial point where the victim fell, personnel carried out dives.

The diving method was carried out for the second time since that morning. The search process was also witnessed by a number of residents.

A diver named Teguh said the fourth-day dive was conducted at depths of up to 6 metres. Strong currents at the riverbed, limited visibility, and large amounts of mud and rubbish posed particular challenges in the search for the victim.

“As for the current conditions, at the surface it is somewhat calm, but below it is strong. Visibility is less than 1 metre, roughly around 50 cm. The deepest dive point earlier was about 6 metres, around 5 to 6 metres. Inside the water, mud is more dominant, and on this side there is also a kind of depression,” Teguh said at the scene.

He said the condition of the Cisadane River, with many branches and residual waste, also limited the movement of the dive team in conducting the search.

“The conditions inside the water include branches. There is indeed a lot of rubbish and branches, which makes it difficult for us to move around. During this dive, no signs of the victim have been found yet,” he added.

As previously reported, Bogor Mayor Dedie Rachim expressed concern over the incident in which Bogor city government civil servant Bayu Zulkarnain fell into the Cisadane River in Bogor, West Java. He hopes the victim can be found soon.

“We are concerned about this incident and hope that Brother Bayu is found soon,” Dedie told detikcom on Saturday (15/8).

Dedie said the victim’s motorbike was on the bridge. However, the victim’s helmet and belongings were found in the river area, leading to the assumption that the victim went missing after falling.

“The BPBD head’s report stated that there were no eyewitnesses at the scene at the time of the incident, the motorbike was on the bridge protected by an iron fence, but the helmet and laptop were found in the Cisadane River area,” he said.
