Bogor Civil Servant Falls into Cisadane River, Search Continues

An aparatur sipil negara (ASN) from the Bogor City Government (Pemkot Bogor) named Bayu Zulkarnain fell into the Cisadane River in Cipaku, South Bogor, West Java. As of this morning, the victim has not been found. “He was returning home from work. He is an ASN at the Bogor City Archives and Library Office,” said the Head of the Bogor City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Dimas Tiko Prahadisasongko, when contacted on Friday (14/8/2026). The incident occurred on Thursday (13/8) at around 7.00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. It is suspected that the victim fell while crossing a steep bridge that he used daily. “Looking at the chronology, it is a motorcycle bridge, and the descent is quite steep. He used this bridge every day to go to and from work,” Tiko said. “Perhaps it was fate. Qadarullah, at the end of the bridge’s descent, he might have fallen,” he added. Tiko stated that the suspicion the victim fell was strengthened by the fact that his motorcycle was found still on the bridge, while his bag was found on the water’s surface. “No one witnessed the actual incident. But his motorcycle was found on the bridge, and his helmet and bag were found on the water’s surface about 100 metres from the suspected point of fall,” he said. Tiko mentioned that the search process is still ongoing on its second day. A total of 70 personnel from the BPBD, Basarnas, police, fire brigade, Tagana, and the local community have been deployed to search for the victim. “A joint dive team from the Fire Brigade, Basarnas, and BPBD is currently conducting rescue operations. A land search team has also been deployed to check the nets that have been installed, and there are still natural nets within a radius of 100 to 200 metres,” he concluded.
