Bogor City Government to Relocate Street Vendors Blocking the Pedestrian Path on Pakuan Bridge
Bogor City Government plans to relocate street vendors (PKL) who are selling on Jembatan Pakuan, Jalan Pakuan, Bogor City. The presence of vendors at the site is seen as blocking part of the pedestrian walkway and causing congestion, especially during Ramadan. Deputy Mayor of Bogor Jenal Mutaqin said the city government would coordinate with the Satuan Kerja Perangkat Daerah (SKPD) to organise and relocate the PKL in the area. He also urged the vendors to raise awareness to avoid violating rules by selling in areas not designated for the purpose. ‘If you want to sell, don’t sell on the bridge itself; perhaps move a little towards the settlement area or further inside,’ he added. Jenal believes the city government will still grant some leeway to the vendors so they can continue to earn an income. However, he stressed that the PKL should keep the area clean and tidy. He also noted that sterilisation efforts on Jembatan Pakuan have been carried out several times, but the vendors often return to selling, claiming they are local residents. ‘We will inform the Satpol PP; this has actually been targeted several times, but because the excuse is being local residents, it is not permanent. So sometimes the officers also have a feeling,’ he said. Previously, the East Bogor District authorities also conducted PKL enforcement in the Jembatan Pakuan area on 22 April 2025. One takjil buyer, Dhafie, said the PKL occupying the roadside made it difficult for him to move when driving. He acknowledged that the takjil selling moment is particularly potential during Ramadan. However, he believes the arrangement is still necessary so as not to disturb road users. ‘But the point is they can’t be better organised so as not to disrupt those who are active,’ Dhafie said on Thursday (5 March 2026).
