Bogor City Government to Implement WFH for Civil Servants Every Friday Starting Next Week
The Bogor City Government will begin implementing work from home (WFH) for civil servants (ASN). The WFH policy will be carried out starting from Friday next week.
“So the City Government will set WFH every Friday, but it will apply possibly because tomorrow is a holiday, insyaallah starting from next Friday we will implement WFH in accordance with the provisions that were decided yesterday,” said Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim to reporters on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
“Insyaallah, we will also consult with the DPRD to ensure that Bogor’s WFH will be the same as the National WFH,” he added.
Dedie stated that the WFH policy does not apply to ASN or work units related to services and direct interaction with the public.
“In Mayor’s Decree Number 800.1 of 2025, it is actually detailed who is allowed to carry out WFH. So that means there are some work units that indeed cannot do WFH, they will continue to carry out their duties in serving the public,” said Dedie.
“Then of course for attendance, communication and so on, there are points of its provisions. So for example, they must be connected with the work unit, with their leaders and so on, there are detailed rules,” he added.
Cut 50 Per Cent Fuel Budget for Department Heads
Dedie also instructed all civil servants (ASN) in Bogor City to save energy in the sector. Dedie also plans to cut the petrol and diesel budget for department heads by up to 50 per cent.
“For savings in official vehicles, yesterday I also spoke with BKAD, to carry out a cut in the allocation of petrol and diesel budget for department heads by 50 per cent,” said Dedie to reporters on Wednesday (1/4).
As a replacement, said Dedie, department heads in Bogor City can use electric vehicles or public transport for official trips. Dedie described the policy as a form of support for the central government in terms of energy efficiency.
“So please find alternatives later, (for department heads) for example, they can use electric vehicles or use more energy-efficient vehicles. Like two-wheeled vehicles or indeed can travel by public transport,” said Dedie.
“So we really want the central government to be helped by policy steps in the local government in order to carry out energy efficiency,” he added.
