Bogor City Government to Aid 2,000 Underprivileged Private School Students

Bogor City, West Java (ANTARA) — The Bogor City Government will provide educational assistance to 2,000 students from underprivileged families attending private schools starting in 2026.

“This programme is a form of our commitment to ensuring every child in Bogor City has an equal opportunity to obtain a decent education,” said Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim in Bogor on Tuesday.

He said each beneficiary student will receive Rp3 million per year as part of efforts to broaden equitable access to education for the community.

The programme is part of the Bogor City Government’s commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to receive a proper education, including students from low-income families enrolled in private educational institutions.

With 2,000 recipients and Rp3 million in assistance per student, the programme requires a budget of approximately Rp6 billion per year.

Beyond providing assistance to underprivileged students, the Bogor City Government is also encouraging the optimisation of educational facilities through the integration of schools with sports grounds in surrounding neighbourhoods.

The city government is promoting the integration of SMAN 11’s grounds with the Kayumanis Sports Field to support the development of educational facilities as well as sporting activities for students and the wider community.

A similar step is being taken through the integration of the Yasmin Sports Field with SMAN 10 Bogor City. The move is expected to optimise the use of assets and public spaces so that they provide greater benefit for teaching and learning activities as well as the development of students’ potential.

These policies form part of the Bogor City Government’s efforts to strengthen a more inclusive education ecosystem, improve the quality of human resources, and support the realisation of a competitive generation.
