Bogor City Government to Aid 2,000 Underprivileged Private School Students

The Bogor City Government in West Java will provide educational assistance to 2,000 students from underprivileged families enrolled in private schools starting in 2026. Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim stated that the programme is a form of the city’s commitment to ensuring every child in Bogor has an equal opportunity to receive a proper education. Each beneficiary student will receive assistance of Rp3 million per year as part of efforts to broaden equitable access to education for the community. The programme is part of the Bogor City Government’s commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to obtain a proper education, including students from underprivileged families attending private educational institutions. With 2,000 student recipients and assistance valued at Rp3 million per student, the programme requires an annual budget of approximately Rp6 billion. In addition to providing aid to underprivileged students, the Bogor City Government is also encouraging the optimisation of educational facilities through the integration of schools with nearby sports facilities. The city government is promoting the integration of SMAN 11 land with the Kayumanis Sports Field to support the development of educational facilities as well as sports activities for students and the community. A similar step is being taken through the integration of the Yasmin Sports Field with SMAN 10 Bogor City. These efforts are expected to optimise the use of assets and public spaces to provide greater benefits for teaching and learning activities as well as the development of students’ potential. These various policies are part of the Bogor City Government’s efforts to strengthen a more inclusive education ecosystem, improve the quality of human resources, and support the creation of a competitive generation.
