Bogor City Government Prepares Weekly Work From Home to Save Fuel
The Bogor City Government in West Java is preparing a Work From Home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) as part of efforts to achieve energy efficiency. The Bogor City Government is devising a WFH scheme without disrupting public services to the community. Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim stated that the policy is a follow-up to central government directives encouraging savings, particularly in energy use that still depends on imported fuels. “The Bogor City Government is responding to central government directives regarding WFH as part of our efforts to implement efficiency, especially in energy sources that still rely on imported fuels,” said Dedie, as reported by Antara on Thursday (26/3/2026). He explained that the Bogor City Government is adjusting the policy by referring to Mayoral Decree (Kepwal) Number 800.1 of 2025, which was previously issued. In addition, the Bogor City Government will also map regional device organisations (OPD) that can implement WFH without disrupting services to the public. OPDs with administrative functions are considered more flexible for applying this work system. Meanwhile, work units that directly interface with public services, such as sub-districts, urban villages, and the health sector, will continue activities on-site at the office. Dedie emphasised that WFH implementation will be carried out gradually to avoid any decline in public service quality. He stated that the government needs time to perfect the appropriate scheme before full enforcement. “We certainly need a little time so that its implementation does not disrupt services to the community. SKPD that cannot implement WFH will continue working as usual,” he said.
