Bogor City Government Prepares Land for MTsN 2 Following Minister AHY's Visit

The Bogor City Government is preparing land for the proposed construction of MTsN 2 after the suggestion for an additional state madrasa emerged during a visit by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to Bogor City, West Java, on Friday. Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim stated on Thursday that Minister AHY inquired about the possibility of adding a state Islamic junior high school (MTsN) in Bogor City to expand access to faith-based education. “The Minister asked whether it would be possible to add another state MTs in Bogor City. This means we will try to find suitable land to propose to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the construction of MTsN 2 Bogor,” Dedie said. According to him, the Bogor City Government is ready to facilitate the provision of land if a suitable location is found to support the construction of the new state madrasa. “We have already granted MAN 1 Bogor to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, we have also granted the Bogor City Ministry of Religious Affairs office, including several KUA offices. So there is already a lot, and if there is land available, we will certainly facilitate it,” he stated. Meanwhile, AHY said that the rehabilitation of MTsN 1 Bogor City is part of the national madrasa renovation and rehabilitation programme implemented by the government based on Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2025. “I received an explanation that the progress of the madrasa rehabilitation and renovation is around 95 percent. So it will be completed soon,” AHY said. According to him, the construction and improvement of educational infrastructure is one of the government’s efforts to enhance the quality of human resources by providing safe, comfortable, and proper learning facilities for both students and teaching staff. AHY added that the government is also prioritising the improvement of basic school facilities such as sanitation, toilets, and access to clean water, in addition to classrooms and laboratories, to support the overall quality of education.
