Bogor City Government Plans WFH Every Thursday, Awaiting Central Government Decision
The Bogor City Government in West Java is still awaiting a decision from the central government regarding regulations for one day of work from home (WFH) for civil servants (ASN). The initial plan is for WFH to be implemented every Thursday.
“For the national WFH, the City Government is waiting for further guidance from the central government to ensure uniformity in regulations and to facilitate measurement in terms of energy efficiency,” said Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim to reporters on Sunday (28/3/2026).
Dedie stated that the City Government has planned to implement WFH on Thursdays, following the guidance from the West Java Provincial Government. However, he said, certainty on the determination is still awaiting the central government.
“The City Government’s initial concept follows the Provincial WFH, which sets implementation on Thursdays. But we are waiting first to avoid issuing policies twice,” Dedie explained.
Furthermore, Dedie said that the Bogor City Government already has regulations regarding ASN who are allowed to WFH. That policy requires approval from superiors.
“The Bogor City Government already has Mayor’s Decree No. 800.1/2025 on work flexibility that allows ASN to work from home with superior approval,” he concluded.
The government has set one day of WFH for fuel efficiency due to the war in the Middle East (Timteng). When will the government announce the WFH day?
“It’s already set this week,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto after accompanying President Prabowo Subianto in receiving US businessman Ray Dalio at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Friday (27/3).
Meanwhile, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto has officially issued a WFH policy every Friday for ASN. The WFH policy is contained in Circular Letter (SE) No. 000.8.3/578-ORG dated 27 March 2026.
“The implementation of official duties for ASN employees in the Bogor Regency Government environment after the holiday and collective leave of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H can be carried out through the work from home (WFH) scheme every Friday. Meanwhile, on other working days, the implementation of duties is carried out as work from office (WFO),” reads one point in the regent’s circular as seen by detikcom on Friday (27/3).
