Bogor City Government: Paledang-Pasir Jaya Bridge to be Completed in November
Bogor, West Java — The Bogor City Government is targeting completion of the bridge connecting the Paledang and Pasir Jaya areas by November 2026, following an extended wait of over five years.
Deputy Mayor of Bogor Jenal Mutaqin stated at the Bogor City Hall on Saturday that construction work will commence in late May 2026, with a project duration of 180 days. He noted that the tender winner has been determined and stressed the importance of public awareness of the development.
“This is a lengthy endeavour that has taken over five years. The tender winner has been selected and the public needs to be informed. It must be properly communicated,” said Jenal.
During a site inspection with residents, Jenal explained that various aspirations were raised by the community, ranging from the involvement of local workers to operational management of the bridge to prevent criminal activity.
“The bridge will not be open 24 hours. It will only operate round-the-clock in emergency situations, such as when there is a sick person or death in the community,” he said.
The Bogor City Government will coordinate various technical inputs with regional authorities, relevant departments, and the third-party contractor implementing the project.
Meanwhile, Chusnul Rozaqi, Head of the Bogor City Housing and Settlement Department, explained that technically the bridge frame height reaches 2.7 metres, with a distance of 2.40 metres between joints.
“In accordance with the contract, work will commence on 29 May and be completed on 25 November. Hopefully these 180 days can be fully utilised, even though the terrain is quite challenging,” said Chusnul.
He noted that one of the main challenges in construction is the transportation of steel materials, which requires sufficient space for material loading operations.
