Bogor City Government Demolishes 14 Illegal Structures on Drainage
Bogor City Government demolished 14 illegal structures built over the drainage flow on Jalan Cipinang Gading in South Bogor on Thursday (2/4/2026). This demolition was carried out to normalise the water channel, prevent overflow during rain, and improve comfort for road users. Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim stated that the presence of illegal buildings such as stalls, vehicle workshops, and steam car washes previously narrowed the road and hindered traffic flow. Dedie added that the City Government is still mapping several drainage and wastewater channel repair points in the Bogor City area. On Jalan Cipinang Gading, the illegal structures before demolition were used for motor vehicle workshops, vehicle steam washes, and food stalls. “At this point, there are 14 points, illegal buildings over the water channel,” he continued. According to Dedie, similar structure demolitions will continue as part of city planning. “In addition, we are mapping approximately 14 more illegal stall buildings that must be resolved immediately. So, it’s not only in South Bogor, but in West Bogor as well, it will continue to several other points,” Dedie revealed.
