Bogor City DPRD Mourns Passing of Legislator Muaz HD
The Bogor City DPRD, West Java, is mourning the passing of PKS faction member Muaz HD at Hermina Hospital in Bogor City in the early hours of Thursday. Bogor City DPRD Chairman Adityawarman Adil expressed a profound sense of loss over the departure of a figure long known as a senior politician and role model for many council members. “We deeply mourn the passing of our senior, Mr. Ir. Muaz HD. He was an extraordinary politician,” said Adityawarman. Muaz HD breathed his last at 03:38 Western Indonesian Time. The senior legislator from the Tanah Sareal electoral district was later buried at the Kayumanis Public Cemetery in Bogor City. According to Adityawarman, the deceased was a protective figure respected across generations within the Bogor City DPRD. His various ideas and contributions as a people’s representative have benefited the community. Adityawarman said Muaz HD was not only a colleague in parliament but also a confidant who consistently instilled the value of integrity in politics. “He also always emphasised to us that good things should be emulated, and bad things should not. In friendship, he was also very kind and wise. Rest in peace, Mr. Ir. Muaz HD, may you achieve husnul khotimah,” he said. Condolences were also conveyed by Bogor City DPRD Deputy Chairman M. Rusli Prihatevy. He remembered Muaz HD as a legislator who consistently safeguarded the aspirations of the people and made public interest his top priority. “Advocacy for the community’s interests was always the priority in every working meeting and policy formulation at the Bogor City DPRD,” said Rusli. Muaz HD was known to have a long track record in education, organisations, and politics. Born in Singaraja, Bali, on 1 January 1960, he pursued higher education at the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and graduated as the top graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture in 1984. In addition to his work as an academic and professional, Muaz HD was active in various social and Islamic organisations. In the political arena, he was elected as a member of the Bogor City DPRD for the 2009–2014 period and was again trusted by the community to carry out the mandate in subsequent terms. During his life, Muaz HD was known as a humble, religious figure who consistently fought for the community’s aspirations. He viewed politics as a means of service and da’wah to deliver policies that favour the interests of the people. His passing leaves sorrow for his family, colleagues, and the people of Bogor City who knew him as a courteous figure of integrity with a strong commitment to public service.
