Bogor City Administration Proposes Running Competitions in Every District as Youth Development Platform

BOGOR — The Bogor City Administration is contemplating the organisation of running competitions in every district across Bogor.

The proposal emerged following the Bogor City Administration and Bogor Police jointly holding a running race before dawn on Dewi Sartika Street on the evening of Saturday, 14 March 2026 through to the early hours of Sunday, 15 March 2026.

Deputy Bogor Mayor Jenal Mutaqin stated that the high enthusiasm shown by residents in the running race has opened up the possibility of similar activities being held across all districts in Bogor City.

He added that the proposal will be submitted to Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim for further discussion.

According to Jenal, if the activity is held in every district, the objective extends beyond simply providing a platform for youth activities.

“But to create opportunities for local SMEs in the area to present their goods,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Bogor Police Chief Kombes Pol Rio Wahyu Anggoro welcomed the Bogor City Administration’s initiative in providing a space for young people to develop their potential.

He also expressed hope that the running competition would not be limited to Ramadan.
