Bogor chaotic
Bogor chaotic
From Kompas
For the last few days Kompas has published articles and photos showing what the town of Bogor is like. On Dec. 14, 1995, on page 8, there was a picture of a street full of garbage. And on Dec.. 16 we could see a picture which showed piles of rubbish. I would like to inform the public that the residents living around Pasar Anyar can smell the putrid smell of the decaying garbage, particularly on sunny days and when the wind is blowing, even from as far away as 500 meters.
Another unfavorable thing is that many of the traffic lights have been dead for quite some time so that a policeman has to regulate the traffic. Why don't they repair the traffic lights?
If Bogor is hoping to host the informal ASEAN summit in December this year, obviously something must be done to put everything in order. The noisy loudspeakers from the shops on Jl. Dewi Sartika must be checked so that the residents living nearby can live more peacefully. Unless Bogor's condition improves, it would be unsuitable to make it the site for conferences, let alone international conferences.
