Bogor BPBD Distributes 10,000 Litres of Water to Drought-Affected Residents
The Bogor Regency Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has distributed 10,000 litres of clean water to residents affected by drought in Karang Tengah Village, Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The aid was delivered to Kampung Landeuh RT 01/RW 02 and Kampung Ciburial RT 03/RW 03 as well as RT 01/RW 03. Head of Emergency and Logistics at Bogor Regency BPBD, M Adam Hamdani, stated that the distribution was carried out after receiving reports of drought from Karang Tengah Village officials on Monday (6/7). “The team immediately coordinated with local officials, conducted an assessment, and then distributed clean water to residents in need,” he said. According to Adam, the distribution used one water tanker truck with a total of two trips. The clean water was sourced from the Bogor Regency BPBD and the Tirta Nirwana Citaringgul bulk water filling station. Based on the field assessment, the water source in Kampung Ciburial has dried up, leaving most residents’ wells unusable. This situation has forced residents to search for water sources as far as the Gunung Pancar area. Meanwhile, in Kampung Landeuh, some residents’ wells can still be used, although the water discharge has begun to decrease. Adam added that the urgent need for residents at present is clean water supply. The Bogor Regency BPBD will continue to coordinate with village officials and monitor the drought conditions to determine further handling measures.
