Bogor Botanical Gardens to Be Transformed into Eid Prayer Site for 2026
The atmosphere of Eid 2026 in Bogor City will feel different. The expanse of greenery and shady trees in the Bogor Botanical Gardens will once again be transformed into the venue for Eid al-Fitr Prayer 1447 Hijriah.
The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) together with the Bogor City Government has confirmed that this tradition will be held again as part of efforts to provide an open worship space while strengthening the social function of the conservation area.
The Eid prayer is scheduled for Saturday morning, featuring BRIN Head Arif Satria as the sermon giver. Meanwhile, the imam will be led by MUI Bogor Chairman TB Muhidin. The event will also be attended by Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim along with local government officials.
Managing Director of PT Mitra Natura Raya, Marga Anggrianto, stated that organising the Eid prayer in this area is a commitment to providing an inclusive public space.
“The Eid al-Fitr prayer at the Bogor Botanical Gardens is a long-standing tradition that we continue to improve in quality,” he said, quoted by Antara.
He added that worship in the conservation area provides a different experience for the congregation. The serene natural atmosphere is considered capable of bringing deeper tranquility and devotion during prayer.
The implementation of the Eid prayer is an annual routine agenda organised by the Mosque Welfare Council (DKM) of Masjid Kifayatul Abidin in the Botanical Gardens area. In addition to being a means of worship, this activity also serves as a moment to strengthen ties between managers and the community.
General Manager of Corporate Communication at PT Mitra Natura Raya, Zaenal Arifin, explained that the Eid prayer will be centred in the Reinwardt area, near the Ecodome, with entry through Gate 3.
“Congregants will not be charged an entry ticket fee, and the event will run from 06:00 to 08:00 WIB,” said Zaenal.
Reflecting on previous years, the number of attendees reached around 3,000 people, dominated by local residents who arrived early in an orderly manner.
The organisers hope that this year’s implementation can proceed more devoutly and comfortably, while providing a memorable spiritual experience.
On the other hand, this activity also affirms the role of the Bogor Botanical Gardens as a multifunctional public space, not only as a conservation area but also as a centre for social and religious activities for the people of Bogor City.
