A group of public minivan (angkot) drivers and owners in Bogor City descended on the Transportation Agency (Dishub) office to protest the addition of new bus stops for the Biskita service along Jalan Raya Tajur.

Head of the Transportation Division at Bogor City Dishub, Dody Wahyudin, stated on Thursday (18/6/2026) that the protest was not a formal demonstration but rather a direct confrontation by drivers and owners of route 21. They objected to the new bus stops on the Tajur-Wangun-Ciawi corridor.

The protesters argued that the eight new Biskita stops had reduced their income by almost 50 per cent.

Dody explained that the additional bus stops were a follow-up to requests from residents wanting access to subsidised, cheap, and comfortable public transport. There are now a total of 11 Biskita stops or shelters along the Jalan Raya Tajur to Ciawi route.

“They have the right to safe, comfortable, and affordable transport facilities, and we at the Transportation Agency accommodate that. The bus stops are now installed in pairs, meaning at a certain point a stop is installed and another is placed across the road. There are roughly 11 Biskita stops, including shelters,” Dody said.

He noted that any removal of bus stops must be coordinated with the Biskita operator, as drivers face penalties if they fail to stop at the designated coordinate points.

“Their hope is for these bus stops to be put on hold first. But the activation of these stops cannot simply be suspended; there are several operators that must be coordinated because the system uses coordinates,” Dody stated.

Dody urged the angkot drivers not to worry, as Biskita operators will be sanctioned if they do not stop at the designated bus stops.

“If the Biskita does not stop at the prepared bus stops, the operator can receive a penalty or sanction. So, if the bus stop is ready and the coordinates are set, it is mandatory to fulfil and stop there,” he added.

Beyond the additional stops, the drivers also complained about the reckless driving behaviour of some Biskita drivers and the practice of carrying passengers beyond capacity.

“Their hope is that the Transportation Agency, in this case the city government, will impose sanctions or inform the operator so that Biskita drivers behave courteously on the road and do not pick up passengers exceeding capacity,” Dody said.

Dody confirmed that the action, involving around 80 drivers and owners, proceeded safely and orderly. Representatives of the drivers and owners were received for an audience with Bogor City Dishub officials.
