Bogor and Tangerang KRL Lines Return to Normal After Accidents

Commuterline services on the Bogor and Tangerang lines, which had experienced delays due to collisions, returned to normal on Thursday (20/8). KAI Commuter continued normalisation efforts and worked to resolve the delays on these lines.

KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan stated that Bogor Commuterline service No. 1183, operating the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route, which struck a person and sustained damage to its braking system, had been put back into service towards Manggarai Station. Meanwhile, Tangerang Commuterline service No. 1914A, operating the Duri–Tangerang route, which struck a motorcycle at an unofficial level crossing between Rawabuaya and Batu Ceper stations, was also able to resume operations.

“As a result of these incidents, ten Bogor Commuterline services experienced delays of more than one hour and some journeys were cancelled, while eight Tangerang Commuterline services experienced delays of up to 48 minutes,” Leza said in a written statement.

Leza explained that to reduce delays, KAI Commuter temporarily implemented single-track operations between Pasar Minggu and Manggarai stations for Bogor line services. Single-track operations were also temporarily implemented between Rawa Buaya and Batu Ceper stations for Tangerang line services.

KAI Commuter expressed regret over the delays caused by disruptions to Commuterline operations resulting from collisions involving a person on the railway tracks and a road user who failed to give priority to the train. Leza noted that Railway Law No. 23 of 2007 clearly prohibits anyone from being in the railway track area without permission and requires road users to always give priority to trains.

“KAI Commuter strictly prohibits unauthorised persons from being near the railway tracks and urges everyone to always give priority to trains when crossing level crossings,” Leza said.
