Bogor again target of bomb threat

BOGOR: Bogor was again the target of a bomb threat on Thursday targeting hotels and council buildings, with police saying the threat was a hoax.

The threat was issued by telephone against the heritage Salak Hotel, the Permata Hotel and the Bogor Council building on Jl. Kapten Muslihat.

While police said they believed the threats were a hoax, officers continued to sweep public places, including city offices and shopping malls considered potential targets.

Hotel Salak spokeswoman Santi Berlianti told Antara on Thursday a hotel receptionist had received a call from an unidentified man at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The man said there were several bombs planted at separate locations in Bogor, including the hotel, which would explode the next morning.

On Wednesday, two bomb threats were made to the private Regina Pacis and Bunda Hati Kudus Catholic schools, forcing the schools to send their students home. No bombs were found. --JP
