Boeing sets up SE Asia base in KL

KUALA LUMPUR : United States aviation manufacturing giant
Boeing has set up its Southeast Asian headquarters in Kuala
Lumpur, a news report said Thursday.

Boeing Southeast Asia vice-president Paul Walters told the New
Straits Times daily the Malaysian office would be the base for
its businesses in the region, which includes Singapore, Thailand
and Indonesia.

But Boeing's interest in the region was not just selling its
airplanes, he said.

"We want find out what we can do and seek new partners that we
can go into business with," Walters said. -DPA
