TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Vice President Boediono has assured foreign investors about Indonesia’s economic strength and stability. The government, he said, was carefully implementing its fiscal and monetary policy.
“The vice president said Indonesia would maintain a conservative and prudent macro-economy so the budget deficit will remain low and they are ready to face any turbulence,” vice presidential spokesperson Yopie Hidayat said yesterday following Boediono’s meeting with Chapman Taylor, the senior vice president of Capital International Research.
Capital is a US-based investment management company. Two days ago Boediono also received Michael Hasenstab, Franklin Templeton’s senior vice president. Franklin is a US-based investment management company.
