Body Shop holds seminar

JAKARTA (JP): The State Minister of Environment's office and cosmetic company Body Shop-Indonesia will host a one-day seminar at the Shangri-La Hotel on retail business roles in promoting environmental awareness on Monday.

State Minister of Environment Sarwono Kusumaatmadja is scheduled to open the seminar, which will feature economist Didiek J. Rachbini, consumerist Debra Yatim, businessman Hari Darmawan of Matahari retail chains, and Anton Lukmanto of Hero supermarket chains. Talk-show host Wimar Witoelar will host the seminar.

Director of Body Shop-Indonesia Suzy D. Hutomo announced on Wednesday that it was hoped the seminar would convey a message that having businesses that were environmentally friendly was not high-cost.

Body Shop is a franchise cosmetic company. Its headquarters is in England. Body Shop was founded by environmentalist Anita Roddick in 1976.
