Body of Suspected KM Nurul Salsa Victim Found Floating in Selayar Waters
A joint SAR team has recovered another body believed to be a victim of the KM Nurul Salsa, which sank in the waters of the Selayar Islands Regency, South Sulawesi. The body, identified as female, was found floating with a life jacket near Mataalang Island. “That’s correct, a suspected victim of the KM Nurul Salsa was found,” said Andi Sultan, Head of the Operations and Alert Section at the Makassar Basarnas, on Tuesday. Upon receiving the information, the KN Pacitan SAR vessel immediately moved to evacuate the body. Meanwhile, the KN Kamajaya SAR vessel is currently transporting two other recovered bodies to Makassar for identification. This latest recovery follows an earlier report from fishermen near Pamulikang Island, who spotted a body floating in the waters, prompting the SAR team to launch an evacuation operation.
