Body of Man Found Bound with Wire in Tangerang
The body of a middle-aged man was discovered in the Taman Pramuka area, Jalan Raya Daan Mogot, Sukaasih Village, Tangerang District, Tangerang City, on Wednesday (17/6) afternoon. Tangerang Police Chief Kompol Suyatno stated that the deceased, identified by the initial S, 75, was a private sector employee residing in Kampung Buaran, Cikokol Village, Tangerang District.
“It followed a report from residents who detected a foul odour around the scene at approximately 4.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time,” said Suyatno on Thursday (18/6).
Residents Kaswan and Kasudin, who own a food stall near the crime scene, witnessed the discovery. They initially noticed a pungent smell and upon investigation found a male body hanging from a fence post with wire wrapped around his neck.
Police officers, the Metro Tangerang City Police Identification and Patrol Unit, along with the Tangerang City Fire Department and ambulance service, evacuated the body.
He explained that officers secured the victim’s belongings, including a white mobile phone and a wallet containing an identity card, a BPJS health card, and Rp54,000 in cash. The victim is estimated to have died four days before being found.
“Officers found no signs of physical violence on the victim’s body,” he stated. The body has been taken to the Tangerang Regency Regional General Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
