General TNI (Retired) Try Sutrisno, Indonesia’s sixth Vice President, passed away at the age of 90 years and 3 months at the Central Army Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 2 March. The former leader breathed his last at 06.58 WIB in the CICU Ward, Room 207, Floor 2, following a decline in his health condition.

According to plans, Sutrisno’s remains were to be buried at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP Kalibata), South Jakarta, the same afternoon. Until this report was issued, the body remained at the funeral home located at Jalan Purwakarta No. 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta, where numerous national figures and government officials paid their respects.

Among those who attended the funeral home were Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat, and other prominent figures.

Subsequently, the remains were prayed upon at the Grand Mosque of Sunda Kelapa, Jakarta, at 11.00 WIB, before being taken directly to Kalibata Heroes Cemetery.

The Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, expressed condolences over the passing of Indonesia’s sixth Vice President, Try Sutrisno. The PKB Faction Chief in the House of Representatives, Jazilul Fawaid, also conveyed deep sympathies for his death.

The Indonesian National Armed Forces Army Command (TNI AD) expressed profound condolences over the passing of General TNI (Retired) Try Sutrisno. Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Affairs Yusril Ihza Mahendra also offered his condolences to the family and the nation.
