Body of 36-Year-Old Man Found in Balikpapan Boarding House

Residents near Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Damai Village, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, were shocked by the discovery of a man’s body in a boarding house on Friday night. The location is behind SMK Pertiwi High School.

The victim was identified as Bayu, 36. The discovery was immediately reported to the authorities, who then deployed a joint team to evacuate and secure the scene.

The Head of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Satbrimob) of the East Kalimantan Police, Kombes Andy Rifai, through the Commander of Battalion A Pioneer, Commissioner Iwan Pamuji, confirmed the report. He stated that his unit immediately responded to the residents’ report to evacuate the victim’s body.

“The evacuation was carried out by the Disaster Response Team of Battalion A Pioneer Satbrimob Polda East Kalimantan, Balikpapan Police, and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Balikpapan,” said Iwan Pamuji in a statement on Saturday.

Upon arrival at the location, the Disaster Response Team of Battalion A Pioneer Brimob Polda East Kalimantan immediately took steps to secure the crime scene. This was done to maintain the sterility of the area for further investigation by the police.

To determine the exact cause of death, the Inafis Team (Forensic Laboratory) of the Balikpapan Police were deployed to the location to conduct a thorough examination and crime scene investigation.

“The Inafis Team of the Balikpapan Police immediately conducted an examination and crime scene investigation. The victim who died was named Bayu,” explained Iwan.

As of this report, the police are still collecting information from several witnesses around the location. There is no official statement regarding the suspected cause of death, whether it was due to illness or other factors.
