Body in Freezer Case: Police Arrest Receiver of Victim's Stolen Goods

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Metro Jaya Regional Police have arrested a perpetrator who acted as a receiver of goods belonging to victim AH (39), whose body was found inside a food freezing device or freezer in the Serang Baru area, Bekasi Regency.

“Investigators have secured A, suspected of acting as a receiver of stolen goods belonging to the victim,” said Head of the Public Information and Documentation Sub-Division of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Police Andaru Rahutomo, in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that the perpetrators DS alias ANC and S had sold the victim’s mobile phone and vehicle after committing the murder.

“The victim’s mobile phone was sold on 22 March 2026 to the suspect receiver with the initials A via COD through Facebook for Rp450,000 in cash,” Andaru said.

Then, one motorcycle unit was sold on 23 March 2026 in the afternoon for Rp2.3 million in cash, and a Beat motorcycle was sold that night for Rp1.85 million via transfer to the DANA account belonging to suspect ANC.

“The use of the proceeds from the sales is still being investigated by the investigators,” Andaru stated.

“They are all employees there. Then one of them, the victim, was invited to commit a crime but refused, so the two others killed the victim,” said Director of Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Police Iman Imanuddin, when met after a meeting with Commission III of the DPR at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3).

He explained that the suspects, DS alias A and S, invited the victim AH to seize goods belonging to their employer.

“Initially, what was to be taken was a car. But because there was quite tight security, the initial plan for the car shifted to motorcycles,” Iman explained.

Nevertheless, the victim still refused to follow the suspects’ wishes, and they carried out the murder of the victim.
