Body Found in East Java Village, Victim Killed by Son of Homeowner
A 25-year-old man with the initials RA has been arrested for the murder of his friend, 23-year-old SA, in Bagorejo Village, Gumukmas District, Jember, East Java. The murder was allegedly triggered by childhood bullying. The case began when a man’s body was found in an empty house on Tuesday (9/6) at around 4 pm local time. The homeowner then reported the discovery to the police. After conducting an investigation and examining witnesses, police suspicion narrowed to the homeowner’s son. The perpetrator was arrested in the Gumukmas or Kencong area on Wednesday (10/6/2026) at around 2 am. ‘The perpetrator has admitted his actions. The perpetrator with the initials RA (25) and the victim, SA (23), a resident of Purwoasri, Gumukmas District, were playmates. The perpetrator held a grudge because he was often bullied by the victim during childhood,’ said a police spokesperson. The police have not yet disclosed the specific forms of bullying the perpetrator allegedly endured, as the investigation is still ongoing. The police explained that before the murder, the perpetrator invited the victim to drink coffee together. During the conversation, the victim made a joke that reminded the perpetrator of his dark past, causing him to take offence. ‘The perpetrator then took the victim to his parents’ long-abandoned house. There, the two got into an argument which led to a physical fight,’ he stated.
