Body Found Floating in Bancong Canal, Bekasi; Tramadol Packaging Discovered
Residents of Harapan Jaya, North Bekasi, were alarmed by the discovery of a body in Bancong Canal this afternoon. The victim’s identity remains unknown.
“The identity of the victim is currently under investigation,” said North Bekasi Police Chief AKP Tono Listianto when contacted on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
Tono stated that several items believed to belong to the victim were found near the location. There was a mobile phone, medicine packaging, and a motorcycle that had been abandoned.
“Several items were found at the scene including a mobile phone, sandals, a hat, tramadol packaging, and one motorcycle,” he explained.
Tono said his team received reports from residents about the discovery of the body at approximately 11:30. The body was initially discovered by residents floating in the canal.
“North Bekasi Police received a report of a body found in Bancong Canal, Harapan Jaya Village, North Bekasi. The body was first discovered by a construction worker passing by the bridge who saw the victim floating in the canal current,” he said.
The body has since been evacuated. The body was transported to hospital for identification.
“The victim has been evacuated to Bekasi City Regional Hospital for further treatment,” he stated.
