Body Buried in Darmasaba Confirmed to be a Man from Sumbawa
The family stated that they had lost contact with the victim, whose initials are DAD (25), since Friday, May 8th, 2026, before his body was found decaying and buried in an empty lot in Banjar Cabe, Darmasaba Village, Abiansemal District, Badung. They then came to the Abiansemal Police Station to confirm the identity of the body after the police released specific details about the victim.
“The victim’s family informed us that they had lost communication since May 8th. After seeing the published details of the tattoos on the body, his parents immediately came to the Abiansemal Police Station to confirm,” said Badung Police Chief AKBP Joseph Edward Purba, Sunday (May 17th, 2026).
This unidentified man’s body was previously found by residents buried in the rice field area of Laba Pura Mukti, Banjar Cabe, Darmasaba Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency, on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026. The victim came from Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and was not married.
The identity of the young man was finally revealed accurately thanks to key clues in the form of several distinctive tattoos on various parts of his body. Police deliberately disseminated details of the tattoo designs to the public to speed up the identification process.
“There is a crown-shaped tattoo on the left chest, a pentagonal star circle shape on the left arm, and the words ‘D32N’ and ‘C2SP3R’ on the upper left back. These specific characteristics are what made his parents very sure that it was their son,” explained Joseph.
Currently, police are still investigating the discovery of the body to uncover the exact cause of the victim’s death. All data from the family is now being combined with other findings and supporting evidence at the crime scene.
“The identity matching process is now very strong and it only remains to prepare the administrative investigation. We are also putting together other clues in the field to make this case clear,” Joseph concluded.
In addition, police are also investigating the victim’s connections with people he used to work with, including at a motorcycle washing place. The investigation is also ongoing regarding an incident that occurred at the location, which is suspected to be related to the cause of DAD’s death.
