Bocimi Toll Road Temporarily Paralyzed Due to Landslide, Now Back to Normal
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Trans Jabar Tol (TJT) acted swiftly to address a landslide that occurred at KM 72+000 on the Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road towards Jakarta, deploying dozens of personnel and heavy equipment to the site. This measure was taken to accelerate the removal of landslide debris and ensure traffic flow returned to normal as quickly as possible. During the handling process, TJT deployed various heavy machines, including excavators, high-pressure water jet washers, and dump trucks to transport the landslide material that had blocked part of the toll road. “Within just a few hours, PT Trans Jabar Tol (TJT) succeeded in repairing and restoring the section at KM 72+000 on the Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road towards Jakarta, which was completed on Wednesday (7/5) at 02:30 WIB,” stated the management of PT Trans Jabar Tol in an official release on Thursday (7/5/2026). Previously, the Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road towards Jakarta was impassable due to landslide material covering the road surface. As the evacuation and cleaning process progressed at the site, the toll operator gradually opened one lane to keep vehicle traffic moving until all lanes were eventually operational again. The on-site handling process also involved support from police and relevant agencies to ensure the safety of road users and smooth traffic during the recovery operations. “We can confirm that there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident. Based on initial information, the landslide was allegedly triggered by high rainfall intensity in the surrounding area.” “TJT and its management extend apologies for the inconvenience caused and commit to continuing to provide wholehearted service to toll road users, prioritising responsiveness, adaptability, safety, and comfort for all users,” emphasised the management. Previously, access to the toll road was completely closed due to a soil landslide covering the road surface on Wednesday (6/5/2026) afternoon. The incident was triggered by intense rain that hit the Sukabumi area, causing the embankment beside the toll road to collapse. The landslide occurred around 15:15-15:53 WIB at KM 72 of the Bocimi toll road, specifically in Ciambar Subdistrict, near the Parungkuda entrance towards Jakarta. The soil material that covered the toll road section caused total paralysis of traffic from Sukabumi towards Jakarta and Bogor. During the handling process, vehicles from Sukabumi were diverted out through the Cigombong Toll Gate. Meanwhile, drivers from Bogor towards Sukabumi were advised to use the arterial route through Cicurug to avoid congestion and support the cleaning of landslide material at the site.
