Bocimi Toll Road Included in New PSN List, Set to Extend to Bandung

The government is set to continue a number of toll road projects and include them in the National Strategic Projects (PSN) list. One of the toll roads to be built is the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) toll road, which will be extended to Ciranjang and Padalarang, as stipulated in the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Regulation Number 16 of 2025. Article 2A paragraph 2 of the regulation states that if a National Strategic Project cannot be completed on time, the person responsible for the project must report its progress and propose a revised completion plan to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs. In total, there are 50 new toll road sections included in the PSN. The Bocimi-Padalarang toll road has long been part of the government’s plan. The Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works already has a design to continue the Bocimi Toll Road to Sukabumi Timur, and from there it will be extended to Padalarang. The Bocimi Toll Road itself spans 54 kilometres and consists of four sections. Section 1 Ciawi-Cigombong and Section 2 Cigombong-Cibadak are already operational. Section 3 Cibadak-Sukabumi Barat, covering 13.7 kilometres, is currently under construction with a progress rate of 81.49% and is targeted for completion in the second quarter of 2027. Section 4 Sukabumi Barat-Sukabumi Timur, spanning 13.05 kilometres, is in the preparation phase for construction. According to the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs document, the total length of the Ciawi-Sukabumi-Ciranjang-Padalarang toll road project is 115 kilometres, with an estimated budget of Rp 7.7 trillion. The plan for the Sukabumi-Ciranjang section is expected to pass through mountainous terrain and include tunnels. Once fully operational, the Bocimi-Ciranjang-Padalarang toll road will significantly cut travel time for vehicles travelling from Sukabumi to Bandung via Cianjur.
