West Java Police have announced that the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) toll road and Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) 2 toll road have been prepared to handle vehicle traffic during the Eid holiday exodus and return period for 1447 Hijriyah. The police have requested that relevant agencies promptly complete infrastructure provisions such as lighting.

“I visited Bocimi yesterday, which will become operational for Eid, and Japek 2 South will also, God willing, be used during the return rush,” said West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan at the Sate Building, Thursday (26 February 2026).

He stated that on 2 March, a national-level coordination meeting would be held in Jakarta, followed by provincial-level meetings throughout Indonesia. Various agencies have prepared all infrastructure and supporting facilities.

“I thank the provincial government and district/city officials who have continued to take steps to facilitate our communities’ travel during the exodus and return period,” he said.

The Police Chief added that lighting would be increased, including rest area services and petrol stations. He estimated that the peak exodus period would last approximately one week before Eid.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that provincial roads used by holiday travellers would be maintained in good condition. “Yes, provincial roads will certainly be kept smooth and well-lit,” he said.

The regional administration will also suspend motorcycle taxis, becaks (pedicabs) and delmans (horse-drawn carriages) during the exodus and return period. This measure aims to minimise potential congestion during this annual period.

Identified congestion hotspots include Cirebon. To address this, the regional government has begun collecting data on becak operators who will be affected by the operating ban during the exodus and return period.
