Bobby Partners with Bukit Barisan Military Command to Develop Merah Putih Cooperatives in North Sumatra
Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, stated that his administration will collaborate with the I/Bukit Barisan Military Command in developing the Merah Putih Village/Urban Cooperatives (KMP), which is a flagship program of President Prabowo Subianto.
“We will collaborate with our friends at the I/Bukit Barisan Military Command so that the establishment of the KMP can run according to the targets that have been set,” said Bobby after attending the national inauguration of the operational launch of 1,061 Merah Putih Cooperatives virtually, Saturday (16/5).
Bobby reaffirmed the North Sumatra Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting the establishment of the Merah Putih Cooperatives as one of the national strategic programs to strengthen the community’s economy.
According to Bobby, the presence of the Merah Putih Cooperatives is an important step in building the foundation of the people’s economy from the lowest level. This program is considered capable of encouraging economic equality while opening up wider business opportunities for the community.
“Every program will certainly have obstacles, but we can solve them together by finding the best solutions. The KMP is the main program of the President. We will collaborate, both in terms of land provision and program implementation,” he said.
The national inauguration was centered in the Kertosono sub-district, Nganjuk Regency, and was attended virtually by regional heads from various regions in Indonesia, including North Sumatra.
Bobby also reaffirmed the readiness of the North Sumatra Provincial Government to support the target of establishing 6,100 Merah Putih Cooperatives, which is targeted for completion in August.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto, in his remarks, said that the Merah Putih Cooperatives are expected to be the driving force for the economy of villages and urban areas, as well as strengthening national economic resilience based on the people.
Prabowo said that the Merah Putih Cooperatives have been equipped with buildings, warehouses, systems, goods, to supporting transportation and logistics elements.
The Merah Putih Cooperative program is also expected to be able to expand access to business for the community, improve the welfare of citizens, and strengthen the distribution of basic necessities to the regions.
“Through the Merah Putih Cooperatives, we also provide affordable credit for the people. The point is, this success needs to be built through the collaboration of all parties,” said Prabowo.
