Bobby Nasution Promises to Work from Nias for Three Months Starting This Week
North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has confirmed he will begin working from the Nias Islands this week, fulfilling a promise made during the 2024 Regional Head Election campaign. ‘Yes, God willing, this Wednesday. The promise was three months, but we will take turns with the Deputy Governor,’ said Bobby Nasution on Monday (13/7/2026).
Bobby explained that in the initial phase, he would work from the Nias Islands for one week. After that, Deputy Governor Surya will take over the duty for the following week. ‘This time I will go first for a week, then the Deputy Governor will come for a week, and we will alternate,’ he said.
According to Bobby, the direct presence of regional leaders in the Nias Islands is expected to accelerate the resolution of various issues faced by the community, while ensuring that development programmes are implemented according to the region’s needs. Bobby stated there are three main programmes that will be the focus of implementation in the area. ‘There are fixed programmes for the Nias Islands, three main programmes that we will distribute there,’ he said.
