Boarding House Keeper Reveals Distressing Condition of YTR Upon Arrival: Claimed to Be Husband and Wife but Provided No Proof

The boarding house keeper where the victim last resided has admitted to almost never seeing YTR (29) leave her room during her stay. The keeper, Resa Rohendi, stated that the victim arrived at the Cileunyi property with the suspected perpetrator in an already concerning condition and had difficulty walking. ‘When they first arrived, she was already struggling to walk and was supported by him into the boarding room. During three months here, she was almost never seen going out,’ Resa said when met in Bandung on Tuesday. According to Resa, the couple introduced themselves as husband and wife when renting the room. Because they claimed to be married, the management requested proof in the form of a marriage certificate, in accordance with the rules for couples residing at the boarding house. However, more than a month after occupying the room, the requested document was never handed over to the keeper. Resa explained that the perpetrator initially did not display suspicious behaviour. The situation changed after he frequently exhibited a rude attitude towards those around him. ‘At first it was fine. But after a month, his behaviour became arrogant. He would get angry if people passed by without asking permission, and when someone came to repair the tower, his wife was often scolded,’ he said. This caused discomfort for the boarding house management. Taufik Hidayat reportedly often vented his anger without reason, raising concerns about disturbing other residents and the local community. The West Java Regional Police are continuing to hunt for Taufik Hidayat in connection with the confinement and abuse of YTR. Police have also formed a joint team comprising various investigators and detective personnel. The Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, stated that the special team was established to maximise the search for the perpetrator. ‘We have formed a special, joint team. God willing, we pray it will be resolved soon,’ he said. In addition to focusing on the pursuit, investigators are also continuing to gather statements from several witnesses believed to have knowledge of the case’s background.
