Boarding House in Palmerah Catches Fire, 65 Firefighters Deployed to Scene
A boarding house in Palmerah District, West Jakarta, caught fire, prompting the deployment of dozens of firefighters to extinguish the blaze. “The object on fire is a boarding house,” said an officer from the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) Command Centre on Friday (12/6/2026). The fire was reported by residents via telephone to the Jakarta Siaga 112 call centre at 6.57 pm Western Indonesian Time. The affected building is located at Jalan Rawa Belong Number 36, RT 07 RW 15, Palmerah Subdistrict, Palmerah District, West Jakarta. Initial firefighting operations were handled by the Palmerah Sector Fire Brigade at 7.11 pm. West Jakarta firefighters extinguished the fire at the scene. “Fire situation: extinguishing completed,” the officer stated. The firefighting operation for the boarding house was declared complete at 7.25 pm. A total of 13 fire engines and 65 personnel were deployed to the fire location. The cause and chronology of the fire are not yet known. “The cause of the fire is under investigation,” the officer said. There is no information yet on whether there were any fatalities or injuries in this fire incident.
