Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) is encouraging Ready Villages to support the Free Nutritious Meals programme in Cirebon, West Java, during a collaboration signing event for Ready Villages in Cirebon on Thursday (16/4).

BNPT Head Eddy Hartono explained that the Ready Villages programme is part of an integrated national policy within the medium-term development plan.

“This programme aligns with government policies in the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan, particularly National Priority 6 (Building from the Village) and Quick Win 1 (Free Nutritious Meals),” said Eddy on that occasion, as confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Through the Ready Villages programme, BNPT is developing biofloc-system catfish farming to strengthen community resilience in preventing radicalism through productive, sustainable economic development based on local potential.

Eddy stated that the activity is an important part of BNPT’s efforts to strengthen community resilience through productive, sustainable economic development based on local potential.

It was mentioned that the construction of 24 biofloc ponds in eight villages in Jamblang sub-district, Cirebon, can also supply 2,000 catfish per pond to MBG kitchens.

Meanwhile, Head of the Cirebon Regency Food Security and Fisheries Office Sudiharjo said the biofloc assistance can boost the village community’s economy.

With the catfish biofloc assistance, he, along with the local government and the Food Security Office, fully supports the programme to collaborate with MBG in the Jamblang area.

“Additionally, it can develop the village economy to encourage the community to achieve better incomes,” said Sudiharjo.

Camat Jamblang Mochammad Nurhiyana expressed similar sentiments, hoping the programme can run sustainably.

“We are very grateful to BNPT. Hopefully, this activity can continue and be maintained so that the programme can show results,” stated Nurhiyana.

Meanwhile, Jamblang Village Head Yoyon Kristiyanto emphasised that the Ready Villages programme also targets community education in preventing radical ideologies.

“Through this programme, we in Jamblang sub-district have formed Ready Mover teams in every village,” said Yoyon.

He explained that the purpose of the mover teams is to go around from neighbourhood units (RT) to RT and block to block, to provide education on prevention efforts so that village communities are not easily influenced by radical ideologies.

From the economic collaboration side, Cirebon Regency National Nutrition Agency Regional Coordinator Shelvy Nujuliyani assured support for community production results.

With the catfish ponds, she hopes it can become good cooperation for the future.

“We are committed to absorbing results from surrounding SMEs, of course, by collaborating with partners in SPPG,” said Shelvy.

Through synergy between BNPT, local government, and various partners, the Ready Villages programme is expected not only to strengthen social resilience but also to improve community economic welfare as a preventive step against radicalism and terrorism.
