Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT), Police Commissioner General Eddy Hartono, stated that the presence of PP Tunas serves as an important legal umbrella to protect Indonesian children from radicalism targeting the nation’s future generations through online games.

He made this statement after the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) announced that the Roblox gaming platform, which has 23 million child users in Indonesia, fully complies with the provisions of PP Tunas to protect children in the digital space.

“In Law Number 5 of 2018, the Government is obliged to carry out prevention (of terrorism). This is one of them (the implementation of PP Tunas). Today, we are synergising with the Ministry of Comdigi to strengthen regulations so that, hopefully, terrorist network propaganda activities can be mitigated,” said Eddy at the Ministry of Comdigi office in Central Jakarta on Thursday.

This is seen as a follow-up to BNPT’s findings at the end of 2025, which discovered that the gaming platform was misused by irresponsible parties to spread radicalism among children.

According to him, throughout 2025, 112 Indonesian children aged between 10-18 years, spread across 26 provinces, were indoctrinated with terrorist content through communications built via online gaming platforms.

Going forward, BNPT plans to strengthen education and digital literacy to protect children from radical terrorist teachings.

It is hoped that in this way, Indonesia’s young generation will not be deceived by irresponsible parties spreading ideologies that damage national values.

“Going forward, we will continue to carry out prevention so that our children are not exposed to radicalisation through platform algorithms or social media,” said Eddy.
