BNPT Facilitates Catfish Supply to Cirebon MBG Kitchen from Siapsiaga Village Programme
Cirebon (ANTARA) - The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) has facilitated the supply of catfish to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchen in Cirebon Regency, West Java, from the development of biofloc fish farming under the Siapsiaga Village programme in the area.
BNPT Chief Eddy Hartono stated that this step is part of the follow-up to the Siapsiaga Village Programme, which integrates security aspects and community economic empowerment.
“Today, we are carrying out one of the follow-up activities of the BNPT Siapsiaga Village Programme,” said Eddy after inspecting the catfish farming activities in Jamblang Village, Cirebon, on Thursday.
He explained that the Siapsiaga Village aims to strengthen community resilience against the potential spread of radical terrorism ideologies.
In Cirebon Regency, BNPT has designated eight villages as locations for implementing the programme.
Eddy mentioned that the current development of catfish farming is carried out through 24 biofloc ponds managed jointly by the community to produce catfish that will be supplied to the MBG kitchen in the area.
He noted that there are three MBG kitchens that will receive supplies from this farming output, with a target distribution of around 500 kilograms per week.
“Later, it is planned to provide approximately 500 kilograms of catfish every week,” he said.
He conveyed that economic strengthening through this programme is part of the strategy to prevent the spread of radical terrorism ideologies at the village level.
Eddy added that in the future, the farming commodities can be developed not only for catfish but also for other types of fish according to field needs.
“In the future, it may not only be catfish, but also tilapia and others, depending on the situation in the field,” he said.
