BNPP's Dharma Wanita Holds Free Pap Smear Examinations
The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Indonesia’s National Border Management Agency (BNPP) held free pap smear examinations for the early detection of cervical cancer. The activity, which took place at the BNPP Secretariat Office in Jakarta on Thursday (2/7), was provided completely free of charge. “Programmes like this provide tangible benefits, especially for the health of the extended BNPP family. Prevention efforts through early detection are very important, considering that non-communicable diseases are still a leading cause of declining quality of life,” said BNPP Secretary and Acting Head of the Bureau of Finance, General Affairs, and Public Relations, Belly Isnaeni, in an official statement. According to Belly, the presence of DWP BNPP also helps create a harmonious working environment, strengthens togetherness, and contributes to improving the quality of human resources within civil servant families through various social, educational, and health activities. Belly stated that this examination is a simple step to observe cell changes in the cervix so that treatment can be carried out quickly and effectively. “It is hoped that this collaboration can continue to be strengthened through other promotive and preventive programmes, so that a culture of healthy living becomes increasingly ingrained within the BNPP environment,” he added. Meanwhile, representing the Chairperson of DWP BNPP, the Head of Social and Cultural Affairs for DWP BNPP, Dewi Bakri, affirmed that this activity is a tangible manifestation of DWP BNPP’s concern for the importance of maintaining health, particularly through the early detection of non-communicable diseases. “Health is the main asset in carrying out our roles, whether as state apparatus, family members, or as part of society,” Dewi stated. Dewi added that in addition to the pap smear service, participants also received other health examinations, such as a quantum magnetic resonance check and a random blood sugar test for participants who met the BPJS Kesehatan membership requirements.
