Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Border Management Agency (BNPP) of the Republic of Indonesia, through the momentum of Timor-Leste’s 24th Restoration Day, is committed to continuing to strengthen the governance of the state border in a modern, collaborative, and welfare-oriented manner. Quoted from BNPP’s Public Relations press release in Jakarta, Indonesia and Timor-Leste are expected to solidify a peaceful, productive, and competitive border region as the gateway to both countries. The Secretary of BNPP RI, Makhruzi Rahman, together with BNPP officials attended the commemoration of the restoration day held in Dili, Timor-Leste, on Wednesday. The presence of BNPP officials is part of strengthening friendship ties and the commitment to border area management cooperation between Indonesia and Timor-Leste. The participation of BNPP RI in that state agenda underscores the importance of synergy and border diplomacy between the two countries that have close geographic, historical, and social ties. For BNPP RI, border management is not only oriented toward security aspects but also public services, regional connectivity, and the improvement of cross-border community welfare. As the vanguard of state service in the border region, BNPP RI currently manages a number of Border Crossing Posts linking Indonesia and Timor-Leste, namely PLBN Motaain in Belu Regency, PLBN Motamasin in Malaka Regency, as well as PLBN Wini and PLBN Napan in Timor Tengah Utara Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. These PLBNs serve as strategic nodes of cross-border mobility that support orderly and safe flows of people and goods, while also strengthening economic activity and social ties among communities on both sides of the border. Makhruzi Rahman was also accompanied by BNPP RI Expert Group Nur Kholis, Head of the Planning and Cooperation Bureau of BNPP RI Budi Setyono, and Head of Border Crossing Post (PLBN) Motaain Maria Fatima Rika.
