BNPP Secures 12th Consecutive Unqualified Opinion from BPK for 2025 Financial Report

The National Border Management Agency (BNPP) of the Republic of Indonesia has once again received an unqualified opinion (Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian/WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for its 2025 financial report. This achievement marks the twelfth consecutive WTP opinion received by BNPP.

The achievement was conveyed through the submission of the Audit Result Report (LHP) by BNPP Secretary Makhruzi Rahman to the BPK audit team led by Director General of State Financial Audit V Widhi Widayat at the BPK Tower building in Central Jakarta on Monday (10/8).

Makhruzi said the BPK audit results serve as a crucial point for evaluating financial management as well as the implementation of BNPP programmes in managing the country’s border areas to make them more optimal.

“This Audit Result Report is not merely the fulfilment of an administrative obligation, but an important evaluation instrument for BNPP to assess the effectiveness of budget management and the implementation of border area management programmes,” said Makhruzi in a written statement on Tuesday (11/8/2026).

Makhruzi affirmed that the WTP opinion is a professional statement from BPK regarding the fairness of the financial report presentation based on audit results. Therefore, the designation is not the sole benchmark for the overall success of financial governance.

“We must interpret the WTP opinion as part of the evaluation and governance improvement process, not as the end of efforts to enhance accountability and compliance in state financial management,” Makhruzi stated.

Furthermore, the audit results will be used as material for introspection and evaluation by BNPP to tighten accountability, transparency and compliance with the state budget. This effort is directed at making the implementation of border area management programmes more effective and accountable.
