BNPP Conducts Leadership Regeneration to Enhance Governance Quality
The Secretary of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) of the Republic of Indonesia, Makhruzi Rahman, on behalf of the Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, in his capacity as Head of BNPP, inaugurated Mey Rany Wahida Utami as Head of the Finance, General Affairs and Public Relations Bureau of BNPP, and Harris Fadhly as Deputy Assistant for Economic Infrastructure and People’s Welfare at BNPP, in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7/2026).
The inauguration was carried out pursuant to the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs as Head of BNPP Number 10.00-504 of 2026 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment to and from within Second-Level Leadership Positions (Echelon II) within the Permanent Secretariat of BNPP.
On the same occasion, Makhruzi also inaugurated Supervisory Officials and Functional Officials based on Decree Number 10.00-587 of 2026 and Decree Number 35.04-542 of 2026.
In his remarks, Makhruzi emphasised that the inauguration formed part of the process of strengthening the organisation and represented leadership regeneration aimed at improving the quality of governance within BNPP.
“We understand together that this inauguration is not merely an administrative routine. It is part of our journey as servants of the state,” said Makhruzi.
He explained that every transfer of position should be viewed as an opportunity to bring new values into the organisation, thereby driving improved performance and strengthening public services, particularly in supporting the management of the nation’s border areas.
Makhruzi also reiterated the message of the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, regarding the “tent theory” analogy as a philosophy for building a solid organisation. He stated that a tent can only stand firmly if all its supporting poles and guy ropes function optimally.
“When one pole collapses, breaks, or loosens, the tent will not stand firmly. It will lean, bend, and no longer be strong enough to support the whole structure,” said Makhruzi.
Furthermore, Makhruzi urged all newly inaugurated officials to maintain cohesion and strengthen a results-oriented working culture. He expressed confidence that the organisation would grow stronger if every element carried out its duties and responsibilities to the fullest.
“I extend my congratulations to all colleagues. I hope this assignment is seen as an honour. Once again, congratulations to the colleagues who have been entrusted with these positions,” he concluded.
The inauguration marks an important milestone for BNPP in continuing to strengthen its institutional capacity and human resources, so as to deliver border management governance that is increasingly professional, responsive, and delivers tangible benefits to communities in Indonesia’s border regions.
