Tanah Datar Regency (ANTARA) – The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) emphasised that the completion of rehabilitation and reconstruction for the Sumatra disaster that occurred in late November 2025 is targeted to be completed within the next three years. ‘Nationally, it was set some time ago that the target for completing the Sumatra disaster rehabilitation is within three years,’ BNPB Head Suharyanto said in Tanah Datar, West Sumatra, on Wednesday. He noted that the target was established in the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Master Plan by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), with data locked as of 9 February 2026, and listed in each ministry and agency. Currently, he added, some permanent housing for communities affected by the flash flood and landslide has been built in several regencies and cities on a communal basis. ‘This is centrally built by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. There is also assistance from the Tzu Chi Foundation and some from Danantara,’ he said. ‘So this is not waiting until the temporary housing (huntara) is full; instead, it is parallel. For those who can show land, we will build immediately,’ he explained. Furthermore, regarding communities whose homes were damaged lightly or moderately and have not yet received stimulus funds, he said they can reapply. The central government will subsequently propose its assistance. Specifically for West Sumatra, stimulus funds as of Tuesday (3/3) were disbursed to 126 households (KK) amounting to Rp2.8 billion. Meanwhile, for the three disaster-affected provinces, the government has disbursed up to Rp205 billion.
