Nagan Raya, Aceh — The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), in collaboration with BPBA and BPBD Nagan Raya, has so far supplied a range of basic needs to residents affected by a natural disaster who have begun relocating to huntara in Beutong Ateuh sub-district.

“These supplies of various basic necessities are an effort to meet the needs of disaster-affected communities that have been living in the huntara,” said Irfanda Rinaldi, Chief of Operations of BPBD Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, to BNPB on Sunday.

The basic needs supplied include staples such as rice, cooking oil, eggs, instant noodles, and other basic items.

Moreover, the disaster victims have also received mattresses, blankets, stoves, family kits, and various other essential items for those living in the huntara.

Irfanda said that all aid packages from BNPB, the Aceh Government, and BPBD Nagan Raya Regency have so far been well received by the residents in the huntara.

The regional government also ensures that all logistical needs of the community have been received and used according to the community’s needs.

Additionally, Irfanda acknowledged that some refugees in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang sub-district are still occupying evacuation tents scattered at several locations.

He said the regional government continues to strive to improve the electrical network, including supplying electricity to huntara locations that are currently under construction, so that lighting facilities can soon be enjoyed by residents of one of Aceh’s highland areas.
