BNPB Says Jatiwaringin Landfill Fire 50 Per Cent Contained

The process of extinguishing the fire at the Jatiwaringin landfill in Tangerang Regency, Banten, has reached 50 per cent, with efforts including water bombing using helicopters and the opening of access roads to facilitate reaching hotspots. Director of Emergency Operations Control at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Brigadier General TNI Djohan Darmawan, explained that weather modification operations have not yet been implemented to extinguish the fire due to the minimal presence of rain clouds in the area.
