BNPB Proposes Additional Rp 5.67 Trillion Ready-Use Fund for 2026 Disaster Management
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has proposed an additional ready-use fund (DSP) of Rp 5.67 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year to the Ministry of Finance. The DSP is a special fund that can be readily deployed for disaster response.
“For 2026, the DSP proposal to the Ministry of Finance is still in process, and in the near future we will be proposing approximately Rp 5,676,326,378,193 (Rp 5.67 trillion),” said BNPB Main Secretary Rustian at a press conference on Tuesday (8/9/2026).
He said the additional allocation of operational funds was crucial given that the characteristics of disasters cannot be predicted with certainty in regular budget planning.
He said BNPB’s budget for 2026 amounts to Rp 1,055,134,253,000 (Rp 1.05 trillion). This budget comprises Rp 490,962,057,000 and Rp 564,171,296,000.
In addition, BNPB has been mandated to carry out supporting activities for the acceleration of rehabilitation and reconstruction (rehab-rekon) to independently rebuild damaged houses, valued at Rp 26,886,951,000 (Rp 26.8 billion). This brings BNPB’s total 2026 budget to Rp 1,082,021,204,000 (Rp 1.08 trillion).
Rustian said BNPB has already received ready-use funds for 2026 totalling Rp 4,626,112,811,000 (Rp 4.62 trillion) for emergency response operations in the field.
He outlined that BNPB’s total disaster management budget from 2022 to 2027 is worth around Rp 4-5 trillion per year, broken down as follows:
2025: Rp 4.91 trillion
2024: Rp 5.13 trillion
2023: Rp 5.48 trillion
2022: Rp 5.46 trillion
Rustian said that for 2027 activities, an approved budget of Rp 1,003,070,317,000 (Rp 1 trillion) has been allocated. BNPB has also received a budget for supporting activities to accelerate rehab-rekon in three provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, amounting to Rp 126,246,492,000 (Rp 126.2 billion).
“So the total budget for 2027 is Rp 1,129,316,809,000 (Rp 1.12 trillion),” he said.
